Projects

Our research is focused on exploring how electricity markets are evolving in their decarbonization process, and to understand the economic implications of the energy transition.

In most of our project, we use detailed high-frequency data to examine the responses of firms and households to this evolving environment, and study alternative policies with counterfactual modeling tools.

Projects

Renewable Power

We analyze renewable energy expansion using detailed data to measure costs and benefits.

Demand Side Behavior

We study how households respond to the energy transition using hourly electricity consumption data.

Methods and Tools

Some of our work provides guidance on the methods and tools in industrial organization and energy economics.

Competition and Markets

We analyze electricity markets and model how firms and consumers respond to rules and competition.

Climate Change

We study climate policies including cap-and-trade, carbon leakage, and optimal climate policy design.

Policy Work

We provide evidence-based insights to improve electricity market design and energy transition policy.
